چکیده

Wheat is one of the most important crops in world, mainly used for human consumption and animal feed. To overcome increasing demand wheat production, it necessary to better understand mechanisms involved growth grain. X-ray computed tomography an efficient method non-destructive investigation 3D architecture biological specimens, which does not require staining, sectioning, or inclusion. In particular, phase-contrast results images with contrast increased resolution compared that obtained laboratory devices. The aim this study was investigate potential anatomy grain at early stages development. We provided entire grains various development stages. image analysis allowed identifying a large number tissues, visualize individual cells. Using high-resolution setup, finer details were obtained, making possible identify additional tissues. Three-dimensional rendering also revealed pattern resulting from epidermis appears as promising imaging plant organs

The Imaging of Dynamic Multiphase Fluid Flow Using Synchrotron-Based X-ray Microtomography at Reservoir Conditions

Fast synchrotron-basedX-raymicrotomographywas used to image the injection of super-critical CO2 under subsurface conditions into a brine-saturated carbonate sample at the pore-scale with a voxel size of 3.64μm and a temporal resolution of 45s. Capillary pressure wasmeasured from the images by finding the curvature of terminal menisci of both connected and disconnected CO2 clusters. We provide a...

A low-cost X-ray-transparent experimental cell for synchrotron-based X-ray microtomography studies under geological reservoir conditions.

A new modular X-ray-transparent experimental cell enables tomographic investigations of fluid rock interaction under natural reservoir conditions (confining pressure up to 20 MPa, pore fluid pressure up to 15 MPa, temperature ranging from 296 to 473 K). The portable cell can be used at synchrotron radiation sources that deliver a minimum X-ray flux density of 10(9) photons mm(-2) s(-1) in the e...

X-ray microtomography in biology.

Progress in high-resolution X-ray microtomography has provided us with a practical approach to determining three-dimensional (3D) structures of opaque samples at micrometer to submicrometer resolution. In this review, we give an introduction to hard X-ray microtomography and its application to the visualization of 3D structures of biological soft tissues. Practical aspects of sample preparation...

Anomalous high-pressure behavior of amorphous selenium from synchrotron x-ray diffraction and microtomography.

The high-pressure behavior of amorphous selenium has been investigated with time-resolved diamond anvil cell synchrotron x-ray diffraction and computed microtomography techniques. A two-step dynamic crystallization process is observed in which the monoclinic phase crystallized from the amorphous selenium and gradually converted to the trigonal phase, thereby explaining previously observed anoma...
